This handsome Early motion picture camera was made in the “genesis” period of the silent film era. It is in original condition and operates very well. James Williamson was a Prominent member of the “Brighton School” of cinematography in Southern England. He made 222 films in 13 years (1897-1910). His films were so good that many other filmmakers asked him to make cameras for them. Around 1912 Williamson chose to cease making “animated pictures”, as they were called at the time, and instead focused on manufacturing and shipping high quality movie cameras. This example is a true gem of very early movie making.
