Established in 1837 as opticians and scientific instrument makers and one of the leading camera and photographic apparatus makers in the United Kingdom. Watson was awarded no fewer than forty-two Prize Medals from 1886 - 1900. This magnificent 6 1/2” x 4 1/2” stereo tailboard camera has copious amounts of brass fittings. It has matching Dallmeyer rapid rectilinear lenses and a single Dallmeyer rectilinear lens for portrait and landscape use. It has two sets of leather-cased waterhouse stops and a working Thornton Pickard roller blind shutter. A stunning camera!
