Rouch Patent
W.W. Rouch & Co.
180 Strand
London, England
ca. 1885 - 1895
Rouch manufactured fine quality cameras and earned several Prize Medals throughout the last quarter of the 19th century. The design of the Rouch Patent Portable was quite novel. When closed the baseboard was folded back over the focusing screen; then a loose focusing board was inserted into location slots. The front standard could then be drawn forward into brass inserts. (This sounds complicated because it was!) The Rouch lens is a 7” x 5” Instantaneous Doublet and comes with a leather pouch of waterhouse stops.
