Luzo Hand Camera
Designed by H.J. Redding
Manufactured by J. Robinson and Sons
London, England
ca 1894
A relatively little known camera, the Luzo design was an important landmark on its introduction being the only British made camera taking the new transparent roll-film. It was finely crafted of Spanish Mahogany and had an abundance of brass fittings on the corners and elsewhere. When introduced in 1889, the Luzo was referred to as the “New’ Detective camera”. Its large sector shutter is rather unique.
